1 lb mild sausage
1 8 inch frozen deep dish piecrust, in aluminum pie plate
2 cups (8 oz) grated sharp cheddar
3 large eggs
1 1/2 cups half & half
Heat oven to 350 F. Place sausage in a medium skillet over medium heat, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Cook until no pink remains, about 10 min. Remove sausage from skillet and transfer to the piecrust.
Sprinkle cheese over sausage.
In a small bowl, whisk eggs and half-and-half to combine. Pour over the cheese and sausage.
Place quiche on a baking sheet and bake for 35-40 minutes or until center is firm. Remove from oven and let cool 15 min before cutting into wedges. Makes 8 servings.
I doubled the recipe to make 2 pies. Also found 35 -40 min not enough time. Took about an hour to bake.
