After moving in this past summer I was anxious to find and play area courses and meet other residents with the same interest in golf. I was happy to find so many golfers in the development.

Perhaps it is the recent nice weather or my own need to find a practice opportunity prior to my annual trip with former coworkers to break the winter blues and start thinking spring.
      I started researching area facilities.

      I found

      Golf & Ski Warehouse
      2 Friel Golf Road
      Hudson, NH 03051
      (603) 595-8484
Has an outdoor range with some heated stalls

Pappas Indoor Golf & Baseball Center
      70 Princeton Street
      North Chelmsford, Ma 01863

      Indoor driving range to net
      Putting course
      Sand traps
2 golf simulators for rental by the hour

There are golf simulators at Deerfield CC. and Atkinson CC.

Does anyone have other suggestions for indoor or heated practice facilities?
Does anyone have other suggestions for indoor golf course simulators?

This information will be helpful to me and others new to the area.

Send me your suggestions and I can coordinate the info and report them to others.

When the season really gets rolling, perhaps we can consider some league play or outings.

I went and visited Atkinson. They have a very nice set-up. They have 4 golf simulators with many courses (a mix of real, combination, and created). Rental is by the hour only. During the week (morning is $25, afternoon is $35, evening is $45). All day on the weekend is $50 per hour. They have seating at the simulators, and food services are available.

Is anyone interested in setting up an outing to Atkinson to play on the simulators? They indicated that a single can play 18 in an hour; a foursome would take 4 hrs. The total rental cost would be divided by # of players. If 4 hours is too much time, we could try 2 hrs. While this could be done any time in the future, I’m thinking of setting up something soon.
To accommodate those that are still working, we could plan for a weekend. We could set up first outing for Sat 2/20 or Sunday 2/21.

Please let me know if you are interested.
      Indicate your preference for:
      Weekday
      Weekday evening
      Weekend.
      2 hrs.
      4 hrs.

Martin Meehan and I went to Atkinson Resort to try out one of their golf simulators this past Wednesday. It worked out very well. We arrived a little early and our bay was available, so we were allowed to warm up using a driving range simulation. This also showed ball track and estimation of ball carry and roll-out.

Then we got setup for a course. They have about 40 to choose from. We picked an easy course for first time. There were many setup options the staff person walked us thru including defining tee box, a “gimme” range for putts, max score allowed per hole, wind, etc. The setup allowed for different ball locations: tee, fairway, rough, sand and three putting locations. The ball tracking and simulation of trees, water, and rough was very interesting and reasonably realistic. I had one shot that caromed off a tree trunk. On another I was punching out from trees and caught a branch.

We had booked a two hour time slot and we were able to finish 18 holes. I feel it was a worthwhile experience. This was certainly more interesting than just beating balls at a driving range. I expect to go back again before weather permits outdoor play. Perhaps we can set-up addition group play.

      To all golfers,

It is getting close to golf season. Passaconaway is hoping to be open by the end of March.

Brad Perham got copies of the Passaconaway 2016 membership application and 2016 pricing sheet. Their site is still showing 2015 info ( http://www.passaconawaycc.com ).

I have attached copies of the applications to both Passaconaway and Hidden Creek and the price list.
      2016 Application & Prices
There was a slight increase in all fees. Cart for season (not mentioned on sheet) went to $600.
There are many different options for membership to both Passaconaway and Hidden Creek.. Also included is the option to limit play to only one course (at discounted rate of $500).
If you have any questions you can check with me or contact Passaconaway directly.
