InactiveSince we all recognize how deficient the Post Office has been in delivering our mail lately, I’d like to request that residents of Hickory Woods please take an extra few seconds before opening your mail to make sure that envelope is actually addressed to you. We have received a LOT of mail lately that is not ours (which I generally return to our mailbox with a message to “please re-deliver”), but we have also received mail for us that has obviously been opened, resealed & redelivered after having been mistakenly delivered to someone else. Mostly it’s not anything important — junk mail, catalogs, etc — but sometimes it’s quite personal & private, eg, doctors’ bills, etc. It mortifies me to think of the intimate information that random strangers may be learning about us! So please, neighbors, don’t open anything you find in your mailbox until you’ve checked the address to make sure it’s actually for you! And if you get something that isn’t for you, please request that the mail carrier re-deliver it. Maybe if they get enough of these do-over requests, they’ll begin to see how much improvement is needed…

ParticipantGood point, Mimi!
Another suggestion is to go go “paperless” delivery when possible. We love paper, but the Londonderry mail (non)delivery is a definite indication that paper statements are not a great option. -

InactiveWe have not received any mail today (Saturday 25 Feb), yesterday or Thursday. We get the USPS “Informed Delivery” email each day, so I know that there IS mail we should have gotten, including at least one package – but nothing has arrived. I called the Londonderry PO today & spoke with a man who said we would receive our mail today, but we didn’t. Is there any higher authority we can appeal to for rectification of this problem? I went on USPS.com & sent a message, but I have no idea whether anybody reads those, or answers them, or does anything about them… Does anyone have any information or advice?
