From Bob McGrath (contact Bob if you have questions):
Are you seeing an unusually high water bill?
- Check your toilets to be sure that there is not a leak/faulty plumbing
- If there is no issue with the toiles you may have a leak in the irrigation system.
How do I check to see if there is a leak in my irrigation system?
- Check the house water meter.
- On the meter there is a little red triangle that spins when water is being used. If water is not being used in the house and the red triangle is spinning (maybe slowly) it could mean that water is leaking in the irrigation.
- To confirm, just shut the valve inside the house that supplies the sprinkler.
- If the triangle stops spinning, you may have a leak in the system
- Alliance should be contacted.
At the Clubhouse, there was a leak in the irrigation system; following the procedure (above) was helpful. The procedure was also used by a resident to diagnose a leak.
